5501-2013 CCP — Burton Compatible 55 Series Underwater Dry-Mate Connector

The 5501-2013 is a Burton Compatible 55 series Cable Connector Plug (in-line cable plug), 20 shell, 13 contacts, part of the industry-standard 5500 series underwater electrical dry-mate family. The 55 series maintains full interface compatibility with existing Burton 5500 hardware while adding modern sealing technology, heavy-duty stub Acme threads and pressure-rated blanking cap options. Manufactured from 316L stainless steel as standard.

20 Shell 13 Contacts 600 V Standard 10,000 psi Mated 500+ Matings 316L Stainless Burton Compatible

Key Design Features

  • In-line cable plug: the standard 5501 cable connector plug of the 55 series, with the heavy-duty stub Acme coupling ring and moulded strain relief boot.
  • Industry Standard Compatibility: mates with existing Burton 5500 series hardware — drop-in replacement without re-machining panels.
  • Proven sealing technology: O-ring face seal with socket inserts in a moulded neoprene insulator.
  • Heavy-duty stub Acme threads: rugged finger-tight coupling resistant to vibration and handling damage.
  • Deep-water capable: mated pressure rating 10,000 psi (approx. 689 bar); ≥ 500 mating cycles.
  • Material options: 316L stainless steel standard; Titanium, Aluminium Bronze, Alloy 625 and PEEK body options on request.

Notes for Selection

Shell sizes 15, 20, 24 (and 32) with from 3 up to 39 contacts; PBOF and pressure-rated blanking caps available. Dry-mate design: mate and demate in dry conditions only, de-energised. Inspect O-rings and inserts, and apply a thin film of silicone grease to the O-ring surfaces before each deployment; flush with fresh water after recovery.

Custom configurations available Shell sizes 15 / 20 / 24 / 32 with 3–39 contacts, 1 kV–5 kV voltage builds, Titanium / Aluminium Bronze / Alloy 625 / PEEK bodies, PBOF assemblies, pigtail leads and custom cable lengths can be specified to order.
