RMK-6-MP — 6-Contact In-Line Rubber Moulded Diving Connector

The RMK-6-MP is a Marsh Marine style in-line rubber-moulded subsea connector (6 contacts, male (pins)) purpose-built for commercial diver umbilical communications, underwater cameras, lighting and instrumentation. The special neoprene body is moulded directly onto a 18/6 AWG SOOW pigtail, with hard gold-plated contacts per ASTM-B-488 and a visual index in-line with contact #1. Marsh Marine style connectors are inter-mateable between brands in this category.

Key Design Features

• Purpose-built for commercial diving: flexible rubber body, push-to-mate geometry and tool-free locking sleeve designed for use with thick diving gloves.
• 600 V DC contacts: copper-alloy contacts hard gold plated per ASTM-B-488 for low, stable contact resistance in seawater service.
• Up to 20,000 psi mated: with high-pressure (HP) locking sleeve the mated pair is rated to 20,000 psi (approx. 13,000 m); low-pressure (LP) sleeves are rated to 4,000 psi.
• Inter-mateable: Marsh Marine style RMG/RMK faces mate with most major brands in this category, so existing umbilicals and helmets need no re-termination.

Notes for Selection

Locking sleeve required. Always install the correct locking sleeve after mating (K-MLS-D for this connector; -S suffix for stainless steel). High-pressure (HP) versions are rated to 20,000 psi mated, low-pressure (LP) versions to 4,000 psi — select the sleeve and dummy to match the application depth. Install the dummy plug before water entry, rinse with fresh water after every seawater exposure and lubricate O-rings before storage.
