MCDC16F Micro Circular Dummy Connector — 16 Contacts

The MCDC16F is a 16-contact Micro Circular dummy connector in the female (sockets) configuration. It is not an electrical part: it seals and protects an unmated 16-contact Micro Circular connector against seawater ingress, biofouling, grit and mechanical damage during storage, transit and service intervals.

Key Design Features

• Keyed to the shell: the dummy carries the same keyway and thread as the working connector, so it cannot be fitted to the wrong contact count.
• Same seal as the connector: the nitrile O-ring compresses against the same sealing face, keeping the unmated contacts dry.
• Chloroprene body: the same rubber as the connector body, tolerant of deck handling, UV and the full operating temperature range.
• Protects the wet-mate life: keeping the per-contact seals compressed and the bores clean is what preserves the 500-cycle rating of the working connector.
• Correct pairing: the F version covers male connectors, the M version covers female connectors.

Notes for Selection

For 16-contact interfaces, fit the dummy before the housing is closed up, since the face is hard to reach once the pod is assembled.
