Locking Sleeves for Underwater Connectors

Locking sleeves (also called locking sleeves / coupling nuts) are the retention element of every wet-mateable underwater connector pair: after the connectors are mated, the sleeve screws over the rear of the plug body and locks onto the bulkhead or in-line receptacle thread, carrying the full cable-tension load and preventing accidental de-mating from vibration, snagging or buoyancy pull. Sleeves are injection-moulded from POM (Delrin, red or black) or precision-machined from 316 stainless steel, and every sleeve is supplied with a stainless steel retaining snap ring.

Key Design Features

• POM or stainless steel: injection-moulded POM (Delrin) sleeves save weight and electrically isolate; 316 stainless steel sleeves give maximum strength, 10+ year service life and resistance to constant vibration on work-class ROVs.
• Stainless snap ring included: every sleeve ships with its stainless steel retaining snap ring — no separate ordering.
• Universal across the range: one sleeve family fits Micro, Circular, Low Profile, Metal Shell and RMG/RMK diving connector interfaces — select by connector series and pin count.
• Depth rated: stainless steel sleeves to 6,000 m (600 bar); POM sleeves to 4,000 m (400 bar).
• Reusable: stainless sleeves >500 remate cycles, POM sleeves >300 cycles — inspect threads before reuse.
• SubConn Compatible: hardware dimensions match standard SubConn-style locking interfaces (DLSA / DLSB / DLSC / MCDLS / LS2000 / LS2400 / G / K).

Notes for Selection

Select by connector series and pin count — see the model table above; if you quote your connector model (e.g. MCIL4M, BH8F, FCR1508M) we will cross-reference the correct sleeve automatically. Install the sleeve after every mating and torque to the values in the specification table; never deploy a mated connector pair without a locking sleeve. Custom profiles (titanium, Inconel) and special lengths are available to order.
