IL1F / IL1M / BH1F / BH1M 1-Contact Power Connector — Overview

The IL1F / IL1M / BH1F / BH1M single-contact power connectors are SubConn Compatible wet-mateable power connectors covering all four standard configurations — in-line female/male and bulkhead female/male. Rated 1 kV DC/AC rms at 250 A, they provide a dependable single-penetration power interface for subsea systems, ROVs, battery packs and underwater pump units, qualified by open-face pressure testing to 800 bar / 11,600 psi.

Key Design Features

• Heavy-duty single contact: up to 1 kV at 250 A as standard — the highest-current standard interface in the Power series, for main power feeds and battery charging.
• 3 kV option: an overmould/bulkhead 3 kV version rated 90 A is available for high-voltage subsea loads.
• Selection of cable sizes: designed for a range of power cables from 0.6" to 0.85" OD (15–22 mm), standard lead 1/0 AWG (53.46 mm²).
• SubConn Compatible: proven connector and contact design, POM or stainless steel locking sleeves, pressure-proof dummy connectors.
• Field installable: field-installable versions for straightforward repair and on-site assembly.
• Rugged marine build: chloroprene rubber body, nitrile O-rings and stainless steel snap rings for offshore, defence and oceanographic service.

Notes for Selection

All four configurations (in-line and bulkhead, male and female) share the same 1-contact power interface and are supplied as the 1 kV version as standard. A 3 kV version (3 kV DC/AC rms, 90 A) is available on request — the 90 A rating applies to the overmould and bulkhead versions and requires the bulkhead to be mounted in non-conducting oil (e.g. DC-200/350 or PMX-200/350).
