AWQFBLS / AWQMLS Split Locking Sleeves

The AWQFBLS (female) and AWQMLS (male) locking sleeves secure mated AWQ split connectors against vibration-induced unmating. They are not supplied as standard with the connectors and must be ordered separately — always order a matched female + male pair with every MP + S-BC connector pair for deployment.

Key Design Features

• Split-body field installation: the connector body is manufactured in halves that separate along a split line, so it can be installed around an already-wired cable bundle — no need to thread the cable through or take the system out of service.
• Secure mated pairs: prevents vibration-induced unmating of AWQ split connectors in ROV and subsea service.
• Complete system supply: matched MP connectors, S-BC bulkheads, MP-D dummy plugs and AWQFBLS/AWQMLS sleeves from one supplier — no compatibility guesswork.
• Not standard — order separately: locking sleeves must be ordered with the connectors; available in Polyacetal or stainless steel.
• Wet-mateable: lubricate with Molykote 44 Medium (or equivalent) before every mating; disconnect by pulling straight.

Notes for Selection

Connectors must be lubricated prior to mating — Molykote 44 Medium or equivalent, applied to minimum 1/10 socket depth on the female face before every mating. Disconnect by pulling straight, not at an angle; do not pull on the cable and avoid sharp bends at the cable entry. Locking sleeves are not standard and must be ordered separately (Polyacetal or stainless steel); when using a bulkhead connector, ensure there are no angular loads, and apply the recommended torque when tightening bulkhead nuts.
